mommy, wife, sister, daughter, etc... I come from Cajun Country. When I say country, I do mean exactly that COUNTRY. Shoot we had 10 acres, 2(sometimes 3) of which were dedicated to vegetable gardening. At one point we had a couple of pigs, some sheep, chickens, rabbits, and cats and always a dog or two, three,... (but not more than 4 at a time). And someones cows would come tromping down our dirt road and eat Mama's flowers from the front yard and circle drive and would sometimes wind up right next to the house or out in the orchard. Yes, I can make gumbo along with some other things, but I still follow recipes. Sometimes I really miss the country life, then I remember just how bored I would get. For right now I just miss the quiet and the slower pace of it all.
I also have an absolutely perfect (some define as unusual) family. My husband and I (and our new baby) live in the same house as my oldest daughter, her biological father (Daddy) and his wife (Amma)-who has become one of my best friends and is like a sister to me (considering that I grew up as an only child, I can only guess what it must be like to have a sister).
I also chose Vanilla or Chocolate. I think that if I were to choose something that I knew nothing about, or even everything about, I would probably choose both ('cause I like to have my cake and eat it too ;) so that I wouldn't miss anything.
I have also come to realize that my life (in its entirety) is truly blessed, whether or not I see it in the moment.
